Buffer is a very good version of a thing we are deliberately not building. Whether that is an argument for us depends entirely on where you write.
Buffer has been doing this for well over a decade and the product shows it: a mature scheduler, a wide list of networks, a free tier, and a calendar people genuinely like. If what you want is a social media dashboard, the honest answer is that this comparison is not close, and you should go and use theirs.
The reason to read further is that we are not competing on that. There is no calendar here and no dashboard to learn, because the premise is that the post already exists in a conversation with an assistant, and that carrying it from there into a separate tool is the step worth deleting. Different job, not a better version of the same one.

Where Buffer is the better choice
If you want a calendar you can look at, a free plan to start on, or any of the networks we do not support — YouTube, Pinterest, Mastodon, Google Business Profile — Buffer is the right choice and we would rather you knew that now. It is also the safer answer for a team that needs several people looking at the same queue, which is a workflow we have not built.
Why people pick 1Social instead
The difference that matters is where the work happens. Buffer is a destination: you go to it, you paste, you schedule. Here there is no destination, and the same instruction that produced the draft publishes it — which sounds like a small saving until you notice how many drafts never became posts because of it.
The second difference is what you are told afterwards. Every delivery is reported per network, in words you can act on, and where an outcome genuinely could not be determined it is labelled unknown rather than shown as a success. A network that failed can be retried on its own without republishing anywhere else.

There is no place to open each morning. The instruction that produced the draft publishes it, which is a small saving until you count the drafts that never became posts.
The answer comes before sending

Where an outcome genuinely could not be established, it says so. A tool that reports success it never verified is worse than none, because you stop checking behind it.

Having an MCP server is not a reason to pick us
It is tempting to put “works with your AI agent” at the top of a page like this, and it would be close to meaningless. Buffer ships an MCP integration. So do several others in this comparison set. That protocol stopped being a differentiator roughly the moment it became easy to add, and our own competitive notes say so in as many words rather than pretending otherwise. What is left to actually compare is what happens when a post is halfway out: whether you are told which network failed and why, whether a retry touches only that network, and whether anything is ever reported as successful that was not verified.

When this is the wrong tool
We have no free plan, no calendar, no team approval workflow and fewer networks. If more than one person needs to see the queue, or you were looking for something to open in a browser tab each morning, this is not a like-for-like replacement and switching would cost you things you currently have.
Questions people actually ask
Does 1Social have a calendar view like Buffer?
No, and not by oversight — the queue reads back as a list in the conversation, because a calendar is a thing you have to go and look at. If a visual calendar is central to how you work, Buffer does it well and we do not do it at all.
Can I try 1Social without paying?
There is a free monthly allowance of 30 deliveries, which is not the same as a free plan — it is enough to publish real posts and see what the receipts look like before deciding.
Which networks does Buffer support that 1Social does not?
YouTube, Pinterest, Mastodon and Google Business Profile, among others. We support seven networks and would rather list them accurately than claim a number we cannot publish to.
