1Social compared with Metricool
A Metricool alternative without the dashboard.
Metricool is an analytics product that publishes. This is a publishing product that reports numbers. That ordering explains most of the difference.
Metricool comes at this from analytics: deep reporting, competitor tracking, historical data, brand-by-brand breakdowns, with publishing attached. If measurement is the reason you are shopping, that is a real product built by people who care about it, and nothing here competes with it on that ground.
We come at it from the other end. Publishing is the product, and metrics are read back for the networks that genuinely report them — which is fewer than you might hope, and we say which ones rather than filling the gaps with zeroes. Two different shapes of tool that happen to overlap on the word "scheduling".
The part that is different
Not a feature list — the moment a post leaves, reported one network at a time, which is where these two products actually diverge.
Set me up — what do you need?
Just the accounts. Connect them in the browser once and I can publish from here after that.
Done, connected
I will tell you before publishing if a network cannot take what you wrote.
Good. Drafting the launch note now
Send it over and I will check it before anything goes out.
How did yesterday’s launch post actually do?
four accounts
What came back, per network:
Two report properly, one reports nothing at all, and one is blank for a reason on our provider’s side rather than the network’s.
What Metricool does
Every line below links to where we read it and the date we read it. If one has gone out of date, theirs is the page to trust, not ours.
Metricool has a free plan that publishes, with a monthly scheduled-post allowance and a limited window of analytics history.

Where Metricool is the better choice
For analytics there is no contest and we will not manufacture one. Metricool gives you historical reporting, competitor tracking and multi-brand breakdowns that we do not have and are not building. It also publishes on a free plan, which is a lower barrier than anything we offer, and it supports networks we do not. If you are being asked for a monthly report, use theirs.
Why people pick 1Social instead
The case for us is narrow and it is about the moment of publishing. Before anything is sent, you are told what each network will do with the post — where the caption overflows, which networks refuse it for having no image, what it costs. Afterwards you get one line per network rather than an aggregate, including the ones that failed and the ones whose outcome genuinely could not be established.
That last category is the one worth dwelling on. A publishing tool that reports success it cannot verify is worse than no tool, because you stop checking. We label an unverified outcome as unknown, and for one network we can go and read the post back from a public server rather than trusting anybody’s word for it.
What you get here that you would be trading for
The publish is the product
Everything here is built around the moment something leaves — what will be refused, what will be reshaped, what actually arrived and what did not.
Gaps left visible
Where a network reports no numbers, the column stays empty. A zero looks like a result, and a result nobody measured is worse than an obvious blank.
One network can be proved
On the network that is readable without an account, a delivery is confirmed against the network itself rather than against whoever said they had made it.
No reporting suite here
No historical trends, no competitor tracking, nothing to export for a monthly deck. Metrics answer a question in a chat; they do not build you a document.

We do not have a free plan, and an allowance is not one
Metricool publishes on a genuinely free tier. We offer a monthly allowance of deliveries at no cost, which is a different thing wearing similar clothing: it is enough to publish real posts and read real receipts, and it is not a plan you could run a brand on indefinitely. Our own pricing notes record this as an accepted risk rather than a strength, including the possibility that it sits badly with expectations in the app directories we want to be listed in. Saying it plainly here is cheaper than having somebody discover it at the point where they were ready to commit.
A limitation of this product. Ours to fix. From documentation, checked 2026-08-06.
When this is the wrong tool
If you need reporting — historical trends, competitor comparison, a monthly deck for somebody — this is the wrong tool and Metricool is a good right one. Our metrics are read back per post for the networks that report them, which is useful in a conversation and is not a reporting suite.
Questions people actually ask
Can I read analytics through 1Social?
For the networks that report them, yes — asked and answered in the chat. Some report nothing at all, and one currently returns nothing because of a provider issue rather than a network one. We show the gap instead of a zero.
Is there a free tier?
A free monthly allowance of 30 deliveries rather than a free plan. It exists so you can publish something real before paying, not so you can run indefinitely without paying.
Why would I use both?
That is a reasonable outcome and not one we mind saying out loud. Publishing from the chat where the post was written, reporting from a tool built for reporting — the two do not conflict, and neither of us is trying to be the other.
Something else? Ask us — a person answers.
