YouTube Shorts · from any AI chat

Post YouTube Shorts from your AI chat.

Ask your agent to put a clip on Shorts, and it lands on Shorts — not as an ordinary video on your channel, which is what a horizontal clip quietly becomes.

YouTube does not refuse a video that is the wrong shape for Shorts. It publishes it anyway, as a regular upload on your channel, and nothing in the response tells you it went to the wrong place. So 1Social reads the frame and the length of your video before it leaves, and stops a horizontal clip or an over-long one with a sentence you can act on.

Each post is one video, with a description of up to 5,000 characters. The first line of your text becomes the title, cut to the length YouTube allows, and the full text becomes the description. The upload goes through the official YouTube Data API on a channel you connected yourself, alongside TikTok and Instagram from the same message.

Asking for a YouTube Shorts post

The ceilings in this exchange are read from the same table the publisher enforces, so what the agent says here is what would really happen to your YouTube Shorts post.

What you can do with YouTube Shorts from a chat

Lands on Shorts, not on the channel page

Every upload is marked as a Short, and a horizontal or over-long video is refused before it goes, because YouTube would publish it as a regular video instead.

The frame is read before uploading

Width, height and length are read from the file when you attach it, so a landscape clip is caught in the composer rather than discovered on your channel.

Your first line is the title

No separate title field to fill in: the opening line of the post becomes the video title, and the full text becomes its description underneath.

A shared daily upload allowance

Uploads run through our provider on a daily allowance. When it is used up, the post fails with the time it frees up again, rather than retrying blindly.

The Short that became a regular video

Marking an upload as a Short through our provider does one thing: it appends #shorts to the description. Whether the video actually appears on the Shorts shelf is decided by YouTube itself, from the video: vertical or square, and no longer than three minutes. Get either wrong and nothing fails — the upload succeeds and sits on your channel as an ordinary landscape video. That is why the shape and length are read in your browser when you attach the file, and checked before the post is allowed to go.

A limitation of YouTube Shorts itself — it stays true whoever publishes for us. From documentation, checked 2026-10-17.

When this is the wrong tool

Long-form YouTube videos are not supported: every upload is a Short, and anything horizontal or over three minutes is refused rather than published as a regular video. Custom thumbnails, playlists, comments and deleting a published video are not available here either. Uploads also draw on a daily allowance shared through our provider, so this is not the tool for posting dozens of Shorts a day.

Questions people actually ask

Why was my video refused for YouTube Shorts?

Because YouTube would not have put it on Shorts. A Short has to be vertical or square and no longer than three minutes; anything else uploads as a regular video. We read the frame and the length when you attach the file and stop it before it goes.

Where does the YouTube title come from?

From the first line of your post, cut to the length YouTube allows. The whole text becomes the description. If the post has no text, there is nothing to title it with, so it is refused before uploading.

Can I upload long-form videos to YouTube?

Not yet. This connection is Shorts only, on purpose: one vertical video per post. Long-form uploads need different checks and a title field of their own, and we would rather add them properly than half-way.

What happens when the daily upload allowance runs out?

The post fails with a plain explanation and the time when uploads open up again, and it does not count against your plan. Publish it again after that time. We do not retry it in a loop, because each attempt would draw on the same allowance.
