Postiz will give you more networks and the ability to run it yourself. We will give you fewer of both, and a much more specific promise about what happened to your post.
Postiz is open source, can be self-hosted, and advertises support for a great many more networks than we do. If either of those is a requirement, this comparison is already settled and you should use Postiz — we cannot be self-hosted, and we are not going to claim a network list we have not tested against.
What we are offering instead is a narrower surface with more said about it. Every network here has been published to on a live account, its limits measured rather than read off documentation, and the differences between what a network can do and what our publishing provider will let us do are written down on each network’s page.

Where Postiz is the better choice
Open source and self-hosting are real advantages and we have neither. If you want to read the code that publishes your posts, run it on your own machine, or avoid a subscription entirely, Postiz is the answer. It is also the answer if you need any of the many networks it supports and we do not, which is most of them — Reddit, Discord, Telegram, Mastodon and WordPress among them.
Why people pick 1Social instead
A long network list is easy to publish and hard to keep true. Ours is short because every network on it has been published to on a live account and had its behaviour measured rather than assumed — which is how we found out that one of them silently turned every post into a draft while reporting success, and that another could not create reply chains despite the network supporting them.
The other difference is where the work happens. Postiz has a very capable interface; the whole point here is not having one. A post is written and published in the same conversation, and what comes back is one line per network rather than a summary that averages the failures away.

Every limit quoted on this site came from publishing to a live account and watching what happened, which is how we found a network silently turning posts into drafts.
Whose fault, written down
Each limitation is filed as the network’s or our provider’s. The second kind disappears if we move; the first never does, and knowing which is which changes what you plan around.
Nothing to run
No server, no database, no upgrade you have to perform. That is a genuine loss of control in exchange for never being the person on call for it.

Adding a network is cheap and saying truthfully what it will do with your writing is not, so the list stops where the evidence does.

We are not open source, and that costs you something real
You cannot read the code that publishes your posts, you cannot run it yourself, and if we disappear you cannot keep using it. Those are genuine disadvantages next to Postiz and we are not going to argue them away with a paragraph about managed convenience. What we can offer instead is specificity: each network page here says exactly what was measured, on what date, and whether a limitation belongs to the network or to our publishing provider — the second kind being the sort that disappears when we change providers. That distinction is not something an open repository gives you for free either, and it is the thing that decides whether a limitation you hit today is permanent.

When this is the wrong tool
If self-hosting, reading the source, or publishing to Reddit, Discord, Telegram, Mastodon or a blog platform is part of what you need, we cannot do any of it. Choosing us in that situation would mean giving up capabilities for a workflow difference, which is a bad trade and we would rather say so.

Can I self-host 1Social?
No. It is a hosted service only, and if that is a requirement then Postiz is the tool for the job.
Why does 1Social support so few networks?
Because each one on the list has been published to on a live account and had its real behaviour measured, including the ways it fails. Adding a network is cheap; being able to say honestly what it will do with your post is not.
Does 1Social have an API as well as the agent tools?
Yes — the same operations the agent calls are available over HTTP, which is the honest answer for anything unattended, since the agent tools answer to instructions rather than to flags.
