LinkedIn · from ChatGPT
The post you have been polishing with ChatGPT is one sentence away from being on LinkedIn, without a trip through the LinkedIn composer.
LinkedIn is where people most often write with ChatGPT first: a launch, a hiring note, a lesson learned. The awkward part used to be the end — copying the final version into LinkedIn and fixing what the paste broke. With 1Social connected, the last message is the instruction. ChatGPT calls the publishing tool, the post goes out through LinkedIn’s own API on the Page you chose, and the link comes back in the thread.
There is plenty of room: 3,000 characters and up to 9 images per post. The one habit worth changing is formatting. ChatGPT likes to write with markdown, and LinkedIn shows markdown as it is typed — the asterisks and pound signs stay in the post. Ask for plain text with line breaks before you publish and it will read the way it looked in the chat.
Asking ChatGPT for a LinkedIn post
The LinkedIn ceilings in this exchange come from the same table the publisher enforces — the conversation is drawn, the numbers are not.
Set me up — what do you need?
Just the accounts. Connect them in the browser once and I can publish from here after that.
Done, connected
I will tell you before publishing if a network cannot take what you wrote.
Good. Drafting the launch note now
Send it over and I will check it before anything goes out.
That version is good. Make it plain text with short paragraphs and post it to LinkedIn at 8:15
final draft in the thread · no media
Plain text, and well inside what LinkedIn allows:
Scheduled for 08:15. The link will come back here once it is live.
What LinkedIn allows
Read from the same table the publisher enforces, so this cannot drift from what actually happens when you press send.

Publishing to LinkedIn from ChatGPT
The final draft goes out unchanged
No re-pasting into LinkedIn’s composer, so nothing is lost or reflowed between the version you approved and the version people read.
Read back from the public page
LinkedIn is one of the networks where a published post can be confirmed by reading it back, rather than by taking the API’s word for it.
Timed for the working day
Ask for Tuesday at eight and it publishes then in your own timezone, which on LinkedIn is the difference between a morning feed and the middle of the night.
The Page you meant
Which Page you post as is chosen when you connect, so ChatGPT cannot guess wrongly between your company and a side project.
How it works

Bold in the chat, asterisks on LinkedIn
ChatGPT formats generously — headings, bold phrases, bullet points — and in the chat window that renders beautifully. LinkedIn does not render markdown at all, so a post published exactly as written arrives with double asterisks around the bold words and pound signs in front of the headings. We publish your text as you approved it rather than rewriting it on the way, which is the right default and also the reason this is worth a sentence: say “plain text” before you say “post it”.
A limitation of LinkedIn from ChatGPT itself — it stays true whoever publishes for us. From documentation, checked 2026-10-27.
When this is the wrong tool
If you want ChatGPT to read your LinkedIn feed, reply to comments or send messages, this is not that — it publishes and nothing else, and it does not read your network. LinkedIn analytics are not available in the chat yet either, so “how did that post do?” is still a question for LinkedIn itself.
Questions people actually ask
Can ChatGPT post on LinkedIn for me?
Yes, once 1Social is connected. You approve the draft in the chat, ChatGPT calls the publishing tool, and the post goes out through LinkedIn’s API on the Page you chose. Nothing logs in to LinkedIn as you.
Why did my LinkedIn post show asterisks?
Because the draft was written in markdown and LinkedIn displays markdown literally. Ask ChatGPT to rewrite it as plain text with line breaks before publishing; LinkedIn keeps line breaks, so paragraphs survive.
Can I post the same text to X at the same time?
You can ask for both in one message. LinkedIn has room for the whole piece, X does not, so the check before sending tells you how X would split it — or that it is over the limit — while LinkedIn takes it whole.
