Claude likes to number its points. On Threads those points become one post, so the numbering is either useful or noise — worth deciding first.
Ask Claude for something “for Threads” and it will often produce a numbered sequence, the way threads are written elsewhere. Here, multi-part posts are joined into one Threads post rather than chained as replies, and the joined text is measured against the 500-character limit before sending. The words go out as you approved them, so “1/4” at the top of a paragraph stays there.
Threads is connected on its own, separately from Instagram, through Meta’s Threads API with a login you approve. Up to 10 photos or videos go with a post, as links from Claude, and views, likes, replies and reposts come back into the conversation for the posts once Threads reports them.

The “1/4” that stays in the post
Threads cannot be chained from here, so a draft in several parts is joined into one post — the outcome that publishes, instead of one that fails every time. What joining does not do is edit your words: if Claude wrote the parts as “1/4”, “2/4” and so on, the numbers arrive on Threads in the middle of a single post, where they read as leftovers. We publish text as you approved it on purpose, which makes this one easy to avoid: ask Claude for one post, not a sequence, when Threads is the destination.

When this is the wrong tool
If you need a real chain of connected replies on Threads, this cannot produce one yet, and it cannot delete a Threads post either — both are permissions the publishing side does not hold. For chains, Bluesky and X work here; for Threads, plan on single posts.

Can Claude post to Threads?
Yes, once Threads is connected to 1Social on its own login. Claude can then publish text, photos and video there, and the reply has a separate line for Threads.
Why did my Claude thread become one Threads post?
Because reply chains cannot be created on Threads from here, so the parts are joined into one post and checked against the limit together. Ask Claude for a single post to avoid stray numbering.
Can Claude tell me how a Threads post performed?
Yes, for views, likes, replies and reposts, once Threads has reported them. Ask in the same conversation and the numbers come back. Quote counts are the one figure missing for now, and they are left out rather than shown as zero.
